Zimbabwe customs duty on electronics
How Zimbabwe customs duty on electronics is classified, where the official tariff lives, and what Tengaikoko's estimate does and does not promise.
Duty depends on the HS code
Zimbabwe customs duty is not one rate for “electronics”. ZIMRA classifies goods under the Customs and Excise Tariff. Two phones, a laptop and a charger can sit on different lines and carry different duty.
The tariff notice in force started as Statutory Instrument 203 of 2022. Later instruments amend it. The figure that applies to a product is the one on its tariff line, not a category average.
Where to read the official rate
ZIMRA publishes the tariff handbook and an online eTariff. You can search by code or description, and ZIMRA also offers a duty estimator on that site. Use those for the line that matches the exact product.
This page does not quote a duty or VAT percentage. Rates change when the tariff is amended, and a wrong code produces a wrong number. If a figure is not taken from the live tariff line, it does not belong in a guide.
What Tengaikoko's price includes
When you buy from Tengaikoko, the delivered price includes our estimate of Zimbabwe duty and VAT for the product we sell you. That estimate is not ZIMRA's assessment. ZIMRA decides the final duty at clearance.
If the assessment is materially different from the estimate, we contact you before the goods are released. How any difference is settled is confirmed at checkout. You can read that on our Delivery page.
