Sending to family in Zimbabwe: how collection works

How a send-to-family order reaches the person you named — the collection code you forward yourself, photo ID at pickup, door delivery, and the free holding window.

You pay here, they collect there

You can send an order to family in Zimbabwe. You pay us, and the person you named at checkout collects it at the Harare collection point, or receives the door delivery where that is offered. There is no extra fee for them to pay — the price stays the one all-inclusive price you already paid.

Nothing about the handover is a surprise bill. The recipient never sees your price, and there is nothing for them to settle when the parcel changes hands.

Every family order gets a collection code

A send-to-family order is given its own 6-character collection code. You see the code on your confirmation email and on the order page in your account, next to a “Share the code on WhatsApp” button.

Nothing is sent automatically. Tapping that button opens a WhatsApp message addressed to your recipient, and you forward the code yourself — so the code only ever goes where you send it. The message we prepare carries the code and the collection instructions, never a price.

Collecting at the Harare collection point

Your recipient quotes the collection code when they collect, and brings photo ID in their own name. We confirm the collection point's address and opening hours before the order is ready, so they are not guessing where to go.

If no collection code was recorded for an order, the fallback is the one shown on your order page: the recipient collects with photo ID in their name instead. Either way, the handover is recorded, and your order page shows the order as collected once it happens.

Door delivery works the same way

Where door delivery is chosen, the courier hands the parcel to the person you named, and they quote the same collection code at the door. The code is the proof of handover for both routes, not just for pickup.

How long we hold a pickup order

We hold a pickup order free of charge for up to 30 calendar days after it is ready to collect. The same free period starts after a failed door-delivery attempt.

After the free period a holding fee can apply. The full rule — including the amounts — is on our Shipping page and in section 6 of our Terms, and it is the same rule your order was placed under; this guide adds no charge of its own.
