What you can't import into Zimbabwe

Goods ZIMRA lists as prohibited or restricted, and the separate list of things Tengaikoko does not sell.

Prohibited by ZIMRA

ZIMRA's restricted and prohibited goods page says some imports are banned outright. The page lists pornographic materials; flick knives and lockable blades; skin-lightening creams containing hydroquinone and mercury; base, counterfeit or forged coins or currency; prison-made and penitentiary-made goods; spirituous beverages which contain preparations, extracts, essences or chemical products which are noxious or injurious; goods which are indecent, obscene or objectionable; goods which might tend to deprave the morals of inhabitants of Zimbabwe; and any goods whose importation is prohibited by an enactment.

That is ZIMRA's list, not a summary we invented. The same page is the place to check it.

Restricted: a permit is required

Other goods can be imported only with a permit. ZIMRA's examples include wildlife and wildlife products, agricultural produce, plants and soil, firearms and ammunition, relics, local and foreign currency, and stills. Permits come from the authority named on that page — for example the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe for medicines, and the Registrar of Firearms for firearms.

The same ZIMRA page also lists further controlled tariff lines. Read those on the page rather than from a shortened copy here.

What Tengaikoko will not sell

Separate from the ZIMRA list, Tengaikoko does not sell or deliver illegal drugs, firearms, ammunition, explosives, weapons, hazardous materials our carriers cannot lawfully carry, counterfeit goods, perishable goods that need refrigeration, live animals, currency, negotiable instruments, precious metals, or anything whose export from the United States or import into Zimbabwe is prohibited. An order that includes them is cancelled and refunded.

Lithium batteries, power stations, phones and radios can be sold with extra handling or type-approval conditions. That handling stays inside the one all-inclusive price and is shown before you pay. The full shop rules are in section 5 of our Terms.
