How to read your all-in Tengaikoko price

What each line of the “How your total is built” breakdown means — product, freight, duty, VAT and the service fee — and what the delivered total does and does not promise.

One total, shown line by line

Tengaikoko sells at one delivered total: the price you see already includes getting the item to Zimbabwe. On a quote, in your cart and at checkout you can open “How your total is built” to see that total split into its parts instead of taking it on trust.

The lines always add up to the total underneath them. The panel only displays figures the pricing engine has already calculated for that exact item and order — it never adjusts a number to make the rows look tidy.

The lines you will always see

Product is the price of the item itself. Freight is the cost of carrying it from the United States to Zimbabwe. Duty and VAT are our estimate of the Zimbabwe customs charges for that item's tariff line. Service fee is what Tengaikoko charges for sourcing, handling the import and standing behind the order.

Some orders show extra lines — handling, consolidation, insurance, surtax or local delivery, for example. Those appear only when they are part of that order's total, so every part of what you pay is named somewhere on the panel.

Duty and VAT are estimates, honestly labelled

The duty and VAT lines are estimates, not ZIMRA's assessment. ZIMRA decides the final duty at clearance, on the tariff line that matches the exact product. That is why this guide, like the customs guide, quotes no duty or VAT rate of its own.

If the assessment is materially different from the estimate, we contact you before the goods are released. How any difference is settled is confirmed at checkout, and you can read it on our Delivery page.

What the total does not hide

There is no second bill for freight or customs waiting after checkout beyond what the checkout itself confirms. Optional extras — door delivery where it is offered, for example — are shown as their own line before you pay, never folded silently into the product price.

If a line does not make sense, ask before you pay. The same breakdown is stored with your order, so what you saw at checkout is what your invoice shows.
